Q: How do I change my email address?
A: You cannot actualle change your email address, as it is the primary mechanism to authenticate you to our web site. If you need to change your email address because you have moved between departments here is the process:
1) Send an email from the address that you are moving away from, and address it to: unsubscribe@leadership-connexion.org (there is NO need to add any other text).
2) Go to the registration page of leadership-connexion and fill in the required fields. Don't forget to tick the boxes of the services that you wish to subscribe to, otherwise you will not receive any material at all.
If you cannot complete item 1) please send an email to postmaster@leadership-connexion.org and describe exactly what you want to change. Note that this is very inefficient and should only be done if there is no other way to change.
Q: How do I pay by credit card, it looks complicated to me?
A: We have chosen the safest possible credit merchant for you - PayPal, a subsidiary of E-Bay. If you are NOT a PayPal customer and don't want to become one you can still use the electronic payment service. Ignore the invites to become a PayPal member, and select the "Continue" button. Please click here to let me help you with screen pictures of how to proceed thereafter.
Q: I know I am registered, why can't I logon?
A: Here is the proper logon process: use the LOGON option of the left navigation bar, then insert your email address that you have registered with into the left field (the one saying EMAIL: in front of it). Do NOT add a space or any other character after your email address, just hit the ENTER KEY or click on the "ENTER" box at the right. Do NOT add a password in the right field, as this is for administrators only.
If you cannot logon here are some possible issues (in order of common occurence):
you keep misspelling your email address (numlock stuck?) or add inadvertently a space, comma or dot to the end of it
It is a common error that users have already logged on without realising that they successfully passed (see above).
Your pc is set NOT to accept cookies for security reasons
The page on the web has been updated and your computer does not know about the update.
If connecting from the same computer as the same user you need to logon only once per day.
NOTE: if you know that you have a valid registration, and are member of a design team, do not register again, as this might remove you from the design team inadvertently. If there appears to be a persistent logon problem please drop me a line.
Q:How do prevent some of the previously quoted issues?
1: if your internet browser is set NOT to accept cookies for security reasons click here for a possible change without compromising security.
2: If your browser is set to operate from cache or automatically it will not know about updated pages. To force an update right-click on the current page and select 'refresh'. If you want to set your browser to refresh always please follow this link.
3: Currently we give you only a message if your login has failed, but not if your login has been successful. If you wish to be sure please go back to the LOGON page and check for the message: You are still logged on as ruby.munchkin@transport.qld.gov.au
4: This is what the cookie is for: to remove the need to logon every time you want to go the web site. If your logon malfunctions it might be useful to delete all your cookies. Click here if you want to know how to do that.
Q: I cannot set my internet browser to accept cookies, there is something that does not allow me to do that.
A: That is OK, you just need to logon every time you connect to Leadership-Connexion. If there is some area you cannot get to use FEEDBACK to let us know.
Q: I know I am registered, but whenever I logon it keeps telling me my logon failed.
A: Logons are no longer case sensitive, BUT: if we send you 5 emails and they all "bounce", you are automatically disabled. This is in line with best operational practice, and to protect yourself.
Q: Can I have more than one logon? I have registered as MyName@muxtron.com, and then again later as myname@muxbill.org. What will happen?
A: If your first logon is not valid any longer because your email address has changed, just go ahead and register anew with your new email address. Our system will know that your 'old' email is no longer received and will remove your "old" record after five (5) such failed mailing attempts. If you want to be really explicit either send us an email with the facts, or use the feedback option provided on the selection bars on each page, select the Category UNSUBSCRIBE and quote your old email address that is out-of-date.
Q: When will I be invoiced for subscriptions?
A: There are no plans to bill subscribers. This forum has arisen out of the Queensland Public Service Leadership Lounge, which is interesting in furthering Leadership, and other associated areas. Leadership ConneXion is an adjunct to that forum.
Q: Which areas are free to peruse?
A: Most areas are free to peruse. We ask you to observe Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) of authors and make customary arrangements. For the perusal of substantial intellectual works (Publication Area) we asks that you subscribe/register. There is no fee involved.

Q: Are Email RSVP's still accepted ?
With the new website there is no reason why you should not RSVP directly. Please consider that all members are volunteers and email registration for a session may take up to 6 hours of 'skunk - time' taken from service that is meant for the good of the taxpayer. You should only RSVP via email address rsvp@leadership-connexion.org if the website is down or otherwise unavailable.
